President

Hannah Porter-Jones

Hi everyone! I’m Hannah, a third year Historian at Trinity College and I’m honoured to be President of Oxford Women in Business this Michaelmas.

President's Welcome

As always, OxWiB remains a friendly community, helping young women* gain skills and confidence to enter a variety of industries after finishing their degrees.

Over the summer vacation, all 12 teams have been working extremely hard to arrange a packed termcard of fantastic events. Alongside a plethora of finance, law and consulting opportunities, in Michaelmas OxWiB are reconsidering what ‘business’ means. With public sector, journalism and emerging markets panels planned, we are also extraordinarily excited to host our first Charity Gala to continue supporting Oxfordshire-based charity 'Aspire'.

Excitingly, Michaelmas term will also see the first edition of our Freshers Guide, the relaunch of our international Mentorship Scheme, a new edition of Insight magazine and our largest and most glamorous Presidents Drinks to date. We are working hard on a new alumni-integration project, to reconnect with the amazing women OxWiB has benefited from over the last 15 years and are forming mutually beneficial networks with other Women in Business societies across the UK.Oxford Women in Business is a north star and over the last 6 terms has become an enormous part of my Oxford identity. Wholly supportive of my goals, empowering me to strive for better, OxWiB is a myriad of productive and awe-inspiring women*, motivating and encouraging each other to break the glass ceiling. I could not be prouder to be leading the brilliant OxWiB committee this term.

I wish everyone a successful term and look forward to seeing new and familiar faces at our events this term!
