ABOUT JULIE BROWN
Career Timeline:

Julie received First Class Honours from Warwick University and then joined KPMG where she qualified and became a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountancy and the Institute of Tax.

Julie has an extensive financial, life sciences and luxury consumer background, having spent 25 years with AstraZeneca, undertaking 11 roles in 4 countries and 3 continents and covering all aspects of Finance in the value chain, together with fulfilling Commercial and Strategic roles, including Head of Strategy, Marketing Company President, Regional Vice President and Interim Group CFO.

Julie then joined Smith & Nephew plc in 2013 as Group CFO, during which time Julie supported over 20 acquisitions, refinanced the company and supported the doubling of the company’s value.

Julie joined Burberry as Chief Operating and Financial Officer in 2017, where her responsibilities included Transformation, Finance, Information Technology and cyber security, Investor Relations and Sustainability. She led the Operational Excellence strategy and was part of the team that led to more than a doubling of market value.

From 2016 to 2022, Julie also served as a Non-Executive Director and Audit Chair at Roche Holding AG.

Julie joined GSK as Chief Financial Officer in 2023. As CFO, she has successfully led GSK’s financial strategy through a period of significant transformation, strengthened the company’s financial position to support sustained investment in growth and innovation, and enhanced engagement with investors and stakeholders. She has also championed inclusion across the business, and played a pivotal role in shaping GSK’s long-term growth outlook.
