HSBC Events and internships
HSBC Skills of the Future Events – Various dates in September (23rd, 28th, 30th)
Skills of the Future offers access to HSBC experts, hiring managers and hands on experiences that reflect career paths at HSBC and custom professional development options via the Virtual Experience and Engagement Platform (VEE).
At HSBC we are proud to be the first bank launching VEE to support every candidate with holistic career readiness that includes strength identification, upskilling and job simulations to provide realistic insight into future careers at HSBC and beyond.
According to the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs report, 50% of all employees will need reskilling by 2025. At HSBC we believe leveraging your unique strengths is pivotal in your career growth. We are proud to offer every participant a custom snapshot of their unique strengths, values and preferences through a dynamic self-paced learning journey (VEE) along with subject matter experts aimed at helping you chart a path to a rewarding career which may begin at HSBC.
With this free virtual experience, students get the opportunity to try specific graduate analyst tasks, in their own time, across Corporate Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions (IB), Capital Markets, Trading, Sales and Securities Services. Whether the student already has an idea about how to use their degree or they are still exploring, the HSBC Virtual Experience will provide them with a taster of how a career with HSBC Global Banking & Markets can help them make a real impact on the world. The difference with this virtual programme over others is that students will receive comprehensive model answers upon completion of the experience for all six modules, giving students a comprehensive and detailed idea of the expected standards for a graduate analyst at HSBC.
HSBC Graduate and Intern Recruitment Overview
Please find attached a selection of PDFs related to events and initiatives that your students will find helpful to learn more about themselves and discover more about a career in Global Banking and Markets. I would be most grateful if you could share the event and virtual information attached with your students or place it onto your careers portal. The MI data is just for the careers service of course.
This is some high level data and covers the MI of student applications to GBM from last season, covering all UK roles across Spring, Summer Internship, Industrial Placement, Off Cycle Internship and Graduate Programmes. There is a common theme across our target universities that students are advised to apply earlier than mid-November to avoid disappointment and that it would be advised that the middle sections of the recruitment cycle (Online Immersive Assessment and Job Simulation) are given more credence as they tend to knock a high number of students out of the process.
We will also be shortly announcing five large employability events throughout October that will help target the MI gaps that we discovered from the data that will be open to all students to attend, but we would also be keen on utilising our strong school team for your university, which is made up of alumni ranging from analysts to managing directors, to enable us to carry out bespoke events related to assisting your student’s awareness and understanding of the Global Banking and Markets business.
