Asset Management workshop with Alpha Fund

Oxford Alpha Fund is looking to reach out to budding investors who are interested in progressing their skills through learning from one another through structured conversations, hands-on research and pitching experiences. The fund was started in 2017 and is currently a virtual portfolio with students meeting weekly to discuss the markets and interesting investment ideas. Student analysts also conduct industry wide sector reports and valuation analysis and pitch these to research partners.

They have received support from research partners including Point 72 and JP Morgan, and have given recommendations to hedge fund managers regarding names such as Airbus and Sophos. The fund is looking to promote and facilitate opportunities to bridge the gap between interest and ability for budding investors and therefore is a great place to get started. As of Michaelmas 2018, the Fund will also be launching the first-ever student run investment analysis and valuation Bootcamp conducted by experienced members within the fund.
