Julie is COO & CFO of Burberry and the Audit Chair of Roche. She has a first class BA honours degree from Warwick University and, after training with KPMG, became a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and Institute of Taxation. 
 
Julie then spent 25 years of her career at AstraZeneca. She undertook 11 different roles in 4 countries and 3 continents, covering all aspects of the healthcare value chain in AstraZeneca ranging from R&D, to Product Strategy & Licensing, Supply Chain and Commercial. She led major change programmes including $1bn efficiency and productivity programmes in Operations, Commercial and R&D. Other major roles in AstraZeneca included Head of Corporate Strategy, Marketing Company President, RVP Latin America and Interim Group CFO. 
 
Julie then joined Smith & Nephew as Group CFO at the beginning of 2013. During that time, she led a business-wide Group Optimisation programme and led the Finance Transformation. Julie also supported over 20 acquisitions during this time; refinanced the company; and contributed as part of the team to doubling the share price. 
 
Julie joined Burberry in January 2017 as Chief Operating and Financial Officer. She is responsible for the Transformation Office, Finance, Investor Relations, IT, Procurement and Burberry Business Services. She leads the Operational Excellence strategy and established Burberry Business Services, covering five major functions.   
 
Julie is also a member of the Roche Board and is the Chair of the Audit Committee.
