share your experience
At Oxford Women in Business, we are passionate about ensuring that female students are connected with opportunity, regardless of their background. As a result, we are looking to get female students at Oxford to sign up to become informal mentors. These will be students who have received internship or job offers or are pursuing careers in an industry and are happy to share their experience with their fellow students.
Why is this important?
Speaking to people who work at the company or have previously applied is a really useful way to prepare for a job or internship application and helps to put you one step ahead of the competition. However, not everyone at Oxford will know people with internships. We feel that this it is really important to break down this social divide and connect female students so they can build on each other's experiences.
Who can sign up?
If you have received an internship or graduate job offer and are willing to speak to other students about the application process and their experience, you will be perfect! If you think you have any other experience that may be of interest, such as running your own business, we also strongly encourage you to get involved.
How does it work?
We create a profile for each student who submits their information and is happy to be contacted by email.
What does a profile look like?
How much commitment does this involve?
Signing up to have your profile published can be as high or low commitment as you wish. You may just answer a couple of questions about the application process over email, or you might be to meet up with an applicant for coffee to further discuss the role. It's completely up to you and there's no obligation. All we ask is that you respond to everyone who emails you, even if it's to say you don't currently have time to answer any questions.
How do I get involved?
We believe this will be an invaluable resource - but we need volunteers who are willing to share their experiences. If you would be willing to help, please find information about how to sign-up below!
Volunteer to share
